During May's visit, the UK and China plan to seal business deals worth nine-billion pounds or around 80-billion yuan -- in industries such as finance, agriculture, science and technology. China's ministry of commerce says the two countries will establish two industrial parks in China - one near Beijing and the other in the coastal city of Qingdao. A spokesman also discussed the establishment of the Committee of China-UK Entrepreneurs.
GAO FENG, SPOKESMAN MINISTRY OF COMMERCE "The committee is made of representatives from 15 Chinese enterprises and 16 British enterprises, in the sectors of finance, energy, automobiles and telecommunications. We believe the committee will provide consultations for the governments from the angle of strengthening economic and trade cooperation, and play an important role in facilitating pragmatic cooperation between the two countries' enterprises."
