The man, who was fatally shot after trying to snatch a weapon from a security personnel at Paris Orly Airport on Saturday morning, is the same man who shot and injured an officer in northern Paris earlier in the day.
Local media have said that the airport incident and the shooting in north of the French capital are being investigated as terrorist attacks.
The unnamed man, reportedly a radicalized Muslim under the radar of French authorities, opened fire from a car on three law enforcers at a checkpoint in the Parisian suburb of Stains at around 6:55 a.m. (local time), before fleeing the scene.
One officer was slightly injured in the head.
The vehicle, in which the assailant was traveling, has been found at the parking lot of the Paris Orly Airport, media have reported. This, however, has not been confirmed by the French authorities.
The airport accident, which took place at around 8:30 a.m. (local time), prompted the evacuation of the passengers as well as staff members – around 3,000 in total – and the cancellation of all inbound and outbound flights.

No explosives were found on the body of the man, a spokesman for French Interior Minister confirmed.
No one was injured in the airport attack.
An operation carried out by security forces at the airport has concluded, the National Police confirmed on its Twitter account, however the airport area is still cordoned off and inaccessible.
France is under a state of emergency, which was declared after the November 2015 Paris attacks and has been extended for five times ever since. It is set to expire in mid-July.
On Thursday, the Paris offices of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) received a letter bomb which injured one person. On the same day, a shooting accident took place at a high school in the southern French town of Grasse as a 17-year-old student opened fire, injuring at least eight people.
