South Africa Train Crash: Rail regulator to release preliminary findings on Monday

The South African Department of Transport has launched an investigation into Thursday's train crash which killed 18 people and left hundreds more injured.  Local media reports say the Railway Safety Regulator will release its preliminary findings on Monday. The collision took place near the city of Kroonstad in the Free State province, after a truck failed to stop at a crossing. Police say some of the bodies are "burnt beyond recognition." Footage taken by passengers show a number of carriages laid on the ground and burned badly.
