Theresa May is expected to hold her first post-election cabinet meeting on Saturday, as she looks to create a stable government once again.
However, many in her party have been speaking out about her failed gamble to strengthen her hand.
Sir Craig Oliver, former advisor to David Cameron, said it is not right to follow a strategy of trying to win over 4 million UK Independence Party voters while alienating Liberal Conservatives.
And former conservative lawmaker and minister Rob Wilson also thinks the campaign itself was bad, saying it was madness to hold a general election as the idea had never been floated before.
