DPRK delegates to the "2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic talks" arrived in Beijing today en route to Lausanne, Switzerland. According to reports, officials from the DPRK, South Korea and the International Olympic Committee are expected to meet at the IOC headquarters on Saturday. During his stop in Beijing, the DPRK sports minister Kim Il-Guk told reporters more news will be announced after the talks.
KIM IL GUK DPRK SPORTS MINISTER "You will find out after the IOC meeting. It's cold, and you guys are working hard."
It's expected the DPRK delegation and the IOC will discuss creating a joint women's Olympic hockey team. If realized, it would be the first time that the DPRK and South Korea worked together to establish a united Olympic team. Pyongyang has offered to hold vice ministerial-level talks with South Korea later this week, to discuss their participation at the Winter Olympics.
