Moving to Spain now. The Spanish economy slowed slightly in the third quarter as official data showed that the country's GDP grew 0.8 percent from July to September.
The growth was in line with market expectations, but slightly slower than the 0.9 percent expansion in the second quarter. The growth was mainly driven by strong consumer demand and tourism. However, the data didn't account for any economic fallout caused by the ongoing Catalan independence crisis. GDP growth remained unchanged at 3.1 percent on a yearly basis, just shy of forecasts calling for a 3.2 percent rise. Spain's economy has been expanding since late 2013.
