“Adherence to the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ principle is the best arrangement for Hong Kong,” Chief Executive of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Leung Chun-ying said at a seminar for the 26th anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law in Hong Kong on Saturday.
We will be able to handle the new problems encountered in the practice of “One Country, Two System”, maintain Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability, and contribute to the development of the country, said Leung.
Leung also said the Basic Law of the Hong Kong SAR is a constitutional law regulating the “One Country, Two Systems”. Its preamble has clearly stated the facts of “One Country”, said Leung, adding that its specific provisions also reflect “One Country”.
