WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has lost a bid to have his British arrest warrant cancelled. He still faces arrest for breaking the terms of his bail.
Assange has been holed up inside the Ecuadoran embassy in London for more than five years. He took refuge in 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden over rape allegations which were dropped by Swedish prosecutors in 2017. However, Assange says he still fears extradition to the United States where he faces prosecution over WikiLeaks' publication of thousands of classified military and diplomatic documents in one of the largest information leaks in U.S. history.
