Australian Open: Allertova tops Zhang Shuai 6-4, 7-6

We open to serve with tennis, and action from the Australian Open. Zhang Shuai looking to build an opening round win over U-S Open champ Sloane Stephens. The Chinese looking to progress to the third round, as she faces Denisa Allertova. However, it was the Czech prevailing in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6, and is now into the third round in Melbourne for the first time.
 Also in action would be world number one, Simona Halep, who flirted with another early exit from "Down Under" suffering an ankle injury in her match with Aussie teen Destanee Aiava. But the Romanian would right the ship, as she moves on.
Halep took the opener in a tiebreak and is leading 1-love in the second when she takes a tumble on this point near the baseline and grabs her foot immediately while losing the point in the process. The Romanian gets looked at and has her ankle taped  Halep continues to play and does not seem to be bothered, showing decent movement, including this reflex return that earns her the point in the sixth game of the second.  Halep wins five of the next six games after rolling her ankle, and claims a straight-sets win when her opponent fires long. 7-6, 6-1 the scoreline and faces Canada's Eugenie Bouchard next.
Wimbledon champion and third-seeded Garbine Muguruza is at the top of your screen, and is in control against Jessika Ponchet of France. After several attempts, the Spaniard is able to put away the winner and claim a straight sets win 6-4, 6-3. Muguruza in line to overtake Simona Halep for the top ranking if she wins the event.
Chinese mainland player Zhu Lin at the bottom of the screen facing Hsieh Su-Wei of Chinese Taipei. Zhu Lin takes the opener at love when Hsieh finds the net. Things are reversed in the second, as Zhu is bagelled, finding the net, dropping the frame 6-love, and we need a decider.  
The final set was tight, and after a break in the 13th game, remember no tiebreak in the third set here, claims the win, Hsieh's is too hot to handle, as Zhu fires long. The 90th ranked player is off to the next round. taking the third 8-6.
 In other matches, sixth seed Karolina Pliskova was a straight sets winner, as was eighth seeded Caroline Garcia. Johanna Konta also sweeps past her opponent Ashleigh Barty and Agnieszka Radwanska also prevailed.
