France Economy: Trade deficit widens in September
[]
Now for a look at the French economy. The custom's office said Wednesday that France's trade deficit rose to 4-point-7 billion euros in September from 4-point-2 billion in the previous month. That came as imports outpaced exports due partly to fewer overseas sales of agricultural products and industrial machinery.

Fresh data showed that France's imports in September rose to 44.5 billion euros, climbing zero-point-one billion euros compared with August. Meanwhile, exports also rose zero-point-one billion euros to 40.3 billion euros in September.
