The government of California said on Tuesday it will cooperate with China on clean technology, emissions trading and other "climate-positive" opportunities.
The two sides agreed to establish the California-China Clean Technology Partnership and will work together to solve climate-related issues. Efforts will include developing and commercializing know-how on carbon capture and storage and clean energy.
President Donald Trump announced last week that he was withdrawing the United States from the 2015 Paris Agreement, a move California governor Jerry Brown blasted as "insane".
