Two Russian soldiers killed in Syria, one injured

Two Russian contract soldiers have been killed and one more severely wounded in a militant attack in Syria, the Defense Ministry of Russia confirmed in a statement on Tuesday.
Those killed were serving as military instructors within a unit of the Syrian forces, according to the statement. The two soldiers were killed as a result of a mortar shell explosion, said the ministry.
The identities of the soldiers and the exact place and the date of the attack were not detailed by the ministry.
Earlier, another soldier committed suicide during the first month of the operation, AFP reported. Four Russian servicemen were killed in Syria in February and the Defense Ministry reported a total of 29 Russian servicemen killed in Syria since September 2015, according to RT.
