The first snow of winter has fallen in Beijing, and the city will remain in below freezing temperatures throughout the week. Many regions in China are also bracing for snow, with locals embracing the icy weather. Nathalie Pang has the story.

These strawberries easily stick to the fence after a few seconds of contact. Despite the bitter cold, the bravest still find every opportunity to make a living. For people in other parts of the country, winter does have unique charms. In Chongli County in Hebei Province, where the 2022 Winter Olympics will be held, the snow has brought some icy delights for these young outdoor enthusiasts. Whether it's gliding across the snow or sliding down a slope.
"I have never skied before, and this time after trying, I want to continue skiing in the future."
"I want to become one of the athletes in the coming Winter Olympics."

ZHANG HAIBIN, DEPUTY DIRECTOR BEIJING MUNICIPAL BUREAU OF SPORTS "We want to use this platform to let more Beijing locals take part in winter sports, and to support the coming Winter Olympics."
