Sports Scene returns with some football news from the English Premier League as Jose Mourinho has signed a contract extension with Manchester United that will keep the Portuguese at Old Trafford until 2020.
In a statement on the club's website, Mourinho said "I am really honored and proud to be Manchester United manager". The mercurial manager who turns 55 on Friday, joined United at the start of last season and led them to the League Cup and Europa League titles in his first year in charge. The Portuguese says he is delighted the owners "feel and trust that I am the right manager for this great club for the foreseeable future". United are second in the table behind local rivals Manchester City. The club have the option to extend Mourinho's contract by a further year.
