At least five people were injured, two of them seriously, in an attack by a male suspect in the Swiss town of Schaffhausen on Monday, Reuters news agency reported.

Police said the suspect was armed with a chainsaw and has been identified, but remains at large after the attack.

The incident is not being treated as an act of terrorism, the police added.

An investigation is underway.
