Joining Hands In Tech: Germany's Industry 4.0 brings new momentum to Made in China 2025

An Internet Plus Expo is underway in China's southern city of Foshan. And exhibitors from both home and overseas have brought along their latest intelligent products in order to seek new markets. But countries like Germany seek to go bigger – they're eyeing new opportunities and collaborations for their ambitious "Industry 4.0" plan. CGTN's He Weiwei has more.

Foshan, a manufacturing city in south China's Guangdong province, is welcoming over 600 international exhibitors in this Internet Plus Expo. These mechanical arms are from Germany's leading robot manufacturer, KUKA, under the framework of the country's "Industry 4.0" plan. Because of their accuracy and efficiency, they are widely used in Chinese factories. But this smart technology can be expanded to other areas, for example, sport.

HE WEIWEI FOSHAN CITY, GUANGDONG PROVINCE This is the first time I play badminton with a robot – it's so smart! You should come and try!

The Robotation Academy in Foshan announced its official opening and revealed a demonstration production line of intelligent manufacturing. However, this is no traditional school. This Chinese - German collaboration will integrate resources serving robotics companies around the world, and bring new German techniques to China.

WEI WEI CEO, ROBOTATION ACADEMY FOSHAN Foshan is a manufacturing base in southern China. Its pillar industries include household appliances, ceramics, machinery and automobiles. Factories in these areas urgently require automation reform. We hope to help them improve their production techniques and management in order to reduce costs and raise efficiency.

DR. JOCHEN KOCKLER CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD, DEUTSCHE MESSE AG We brought more than 10 partners from Germany. We'd like to introduce here in China the advantages of robotics, I'm convinced that the industry here in southern China is will profit a lot from this approach, that's important for the industry here.
