Swimming pigs invites visitors to cool off in the Bahamas

While temperatures keep soaring in most parts of the northern hemisphere, pigs on the island of Exuma in the Bahamas cool off by swimming and frolicking in crystal clear water. /VCG Photo

The adorable pictures, shot by Swiss photographer Emmanuel Keller, are taken at the “Pig Beach” on the uninhabited island of Big Major Cay, one of over 360 islands belonged to Exuma district. /VCG Photo

Currently, 20 feral pigs and piglets are the owners of the small islands, and they warmly welcomed guests from all over the world came to take selfies with the renowned swimming pigs. /VCG Photo

The pigs are not native to the island. Some say they were left by a group of sailors, who planned to come back and cook them. Other legends say the pigs swam over either from a shipwreck nearby or another islet in the area. /VCG Photo
