Police in China have arrested a teacher with a Beijing RYB kindergarten for alleged child abuse. The 22-year-old woman surnamed Liu was detained in November for allegedly using needles to discipline children. After an investigation, law enforcement confirmed Liu's offences. Media reports that exposed the scandal last month quoted some parents as saying their children had needle marks on their bodies. Founded in 1998, RYB Education is listed in New York and has more than 500 kindergartens in 300 cities in China.
