China releases report popularizing science

A report on China's science popularization capacity from 2006 to 2016 issued by the China Research Institute for Science Popularization and Social Sciences Academic Press was released for the first time on Thursday.
It marks the first time China has released a blue book on the development of its science popularization capacity. According to the report, the rapid development of science and technology in China has been conductive to promote civic scientific literacy in the past 10 years. 
In general, a country's science popularization capacity refers to its general capability of providing the public with technical products as well as services, such as building museums to popularize scientific knowledge, said Xu Yanhao, vice president of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).

Xu pointed out that if the country's capacity of science popularization could climb one percent, it will promote civic scientific literacy by 1.54%. Until 2015, that in China had raised by 1.88 percent.
In fact, a country's capacity of science popularization plays a very important role in its long-term development.
Having realized the importance of the science popularization capacity, China has invested a lot in the past 10 years, to push forward structural reform in this regard, and to support innovative development, theoretically and practically, noted Xu.
