Greek PM Alexis Tsipras arrives in Beijing for Belt and Road Forum
[]
‍Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras arrived in Beijing on Friday to participate in the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which will be held in the Chinese capital on May 14 and 15.
A total of 29 heads of state and government will attend the forum, the highest-profile international meeting on the Belt and Road since Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the initiative in 2013.
China-Greece relations have developed stably since the two countries established diplomatic ties 45 years ago. During a meeting in April with a Chinese delegation led by senior official Liu Qibao, Tsipras said he was willing to take the Belt and Road Initiative as an opportunity for further bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, culture, science and technology, as well as tourism.
