A popular restaurant in Tokyo has pushed the limits of gourmet cuisine. People lined up over the weekend to try its famous ramen -- garnished with a side of fried insects.
People lucky enough to get inside the eatery had a chance to taste the chef's protein-rich noodles with a dipping sauce of their choice: either crickets, grasshoppers or silkworm powder. The unique meal combo consisted of insect ramen, a bowl of rice with crickets and spring rolls filled with fried worms.
Only 100 bowls of insect ramen were served during the special one-day event.
