We begin on the Korean Peninsula, where working-level talks have been held on the DPRK's plan to send an art troupe to next month's PyeongChang Winter Olympics in South Korea.
According to Seoul's unification ministry, the two sides opened talks at 10:11 AM local time, on the North side of the shared border village of Panmunjom. The two sides aimed to work out details on the number of performers, their travel route, and schedule.
After the two sides previously exchanged ideas on the focus of meetings, the South agreed to send a delegation led by Lee Woo-sung, head of the its Culture and Arts Policy Office. The delegation from the North includes the director of the performing arts bureau at the culture ministry, Kwon Hyok Bong, and the leader of the visiting all-female Moranbong Band, Hyon Song Wo. This is the first inter-Korean meeting after last week's high-level dialogue in Panmunjom.
