In the NBA, the league's leading scorer, James Harden will be on the shelf for the next couple of weeks. The Beard injuring his hamstring during Sunday's double overtime win over the L-A Lakers. Harden came up limping after he was fouled on a drive in the fourth quarter. The 28-year-old is averaging around 32 points a game for the Houston Rockets, who have the second best record in the West, and is one of the early-season MVP candidates. Houston says they will re-evaluate their star in two weeks.
Kyle Lowry and the Raptors winners of 11 straight at home, hosting the Milwaukee Bucks. Early in the third, the Dinos point guard spins and fires from distance, as the Drakes lead by 8. The Bucks go on a run, and tie things at 90, and take the lead when Khris Middleton hits the jumper. T-O leads late in the fourth, but Giannis Antetokounmpo cuts to the rack for a driving slam. It's a one-point game. 26 points and 9 rebounds for the Greek Freak.
The visitors go in front late, but Demar DeRozan gets hot down the stretch, a hesitation dribble, and then get to the cup for the three point play. The Raps all-star, finds the team's other all-star in Lowry, who nails the triple in the final minute, and we are tied at 112. 26 for Lowry. Tied at 114 with 3.2 seconds left. Malcolm Brogdon is pressured by DeRozan, and ge can't get off a good shot -- so we need to go to overtime. DeMar takes control in the extra session, another hesi dribble, and then gets the tough lay-up. Raps down 1. DeRozan scoring a franchise-high 52 points.
Toronto pull away late in the OT. Cory Joseph cuts to the hoop, and then spots Lowry outside the arc, he gets into the lane and its a 5-point lead. The Raptors take it 131-127 and have won 12 straight at the Air Canada Centre.
In other games, Brooklyn handed Orlando their seventh straight road loss. C-J McCollum hit for 32 as Portland edges Chicago in O-T, and Minny downed the Lakers 114-96, the T-Wolves have now won 10 of their last 14 games.
