Russian President Putin arrives in Beijing for Belt and Road Forum

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing on Sunday for the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which will be held in the Chinese capital on May 14 and 15.
A total of 29 heads of state and government will attend the forum, the highest-profile international meeting on the Belt and Road since Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the initiative in 2013.
Last month, during a three-day visit to Moscow by Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, Putin said Russia-China cooperation on major energy projects had seen sound progress, and he welcomed the active participation of Chinese investors into Russia's economic development.
