Egypt's National Election Authority has announced the country's presidential elections will be held from March 26th to 28th.
Officials say candidate registration will start on Jan 20th and close on Jan 29th. Results of the first round will be announced on April 2nd. In case of a runoff, the final results will be out on May 1st. Incumbent Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has yet to formally announce his candidacy for the 2018 election. However, he is widely expected to do so -- and to win in a landslide. In November, Egyptian rights and opposition lawyer Khaled Ali announced his intention to join the 2018 presidential race.
