As the 2017 NBA All Star weekend rounded off on Sunday night local time, the newly titled MVP, New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis from the West scored 52 points - an All Star record high - with a 192-182 victory over the East.
The players offered the audience, both courtside and in front of TV screens, a feast of basketball, brotherhood and banter.

Basketball
Of course basketball is at the center of this event. Klay Thomson of the Golden State missed out on the 3-point shootout crown that went to Eric Gordon from Huston Rocket.
Compared with the epic show last year, the slam dunk face-off this year was not so thrilling due to Zac LaVine’s injury. Glenn Robinson III from Indiana Pacers was named the NBA’s new dunk king on Saturday night.

There were several Chinese faces on the court during the Celebrity game. Chinese-Canadian star Kris Wu and Chinese actor Jiang Jingfu showed off their talents and skills.
Brotherhood
Skepticism about the relationship between Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant has been brewing for some time. On the All Star court with 4’58’’ left in the first quarter the answer came.
Durant fed Westbrook an alley-oop, one minute after Westbrook entered the court. At that moment, a friendly foe received claps and cheers from the West All Stars.

Banter
The All Star weekend is always a gala of basketball, and is always inevitably full of funny moments.
At the fourth quarter, after being dunked on by a 6 foot 11, 220-pound Giannis Antetokounmpo, Golden State point guard Steven Curry suddenly laid himself flat on the ground and covered his head to avoid being dunked again by the leaping giant.

The hilarious scene was enjoyed by spectators, as laughter echoed around the court.
An average audience of 7.8 million people viewed the NBA All-Star Game this year, making it the most viewed telecast since 2013.
