Euro Zone Economy: GDP rose 2.5% y-o-y in 2017

Turning to Europe now. The European Union's statistics office said Tuesday that the euro zone economy expanded at its fastest rate in a decade last year.
Eurostat data shows that the euro zone GDP rose 2.5 percent y-o-y in 2017. That was the fastest growth rate since 2007. Meanwhile, data from the European Commission showed economic sentiment in the euro zone eased slightly in January due to a decline in the retail sector. But analysts brushed off the concerns and expect the positive trend from late year to continue in 2018.
