A teenager in Uganda is making a name for himself on the racing track, the dirt track and on the basketball court. Ali Yasser Omar can ride motocross, drive rally buggies and shoot hoops, and now he is working his way towards being a champion in all three sporting disciplines.

Omar told CGTN’s Leon Ssenyange that he had always liked sport, and he wanted to do more and keep working on the sports that he found he was good at.

Already, Omar has won national and regional championships in motocross, and he is already dominating in the buggy class this year. While he has toyed with other sports like basketball, he still has no particular favorite.

While Omar is spoilt for choice, his mother knows where she wants him and his brothers to be, expressing her expectations that they will one day be international champions.

Omar says his main target is to one day win both of the national motocross competitions, as well as rally and basketball titles too. He is determined to go all the way, and is showing no sign of slowing down.
