Staying with the Australian Open we check in on the Junior Girls as China's Wang Xinyu was up against Clara Burel of France in the semi-finals. The 17 year old Wang beat Japan's Sato Naho in the quarter-finals, and was hoping to book her place in the title match.
Wang is the number one ranked junior girl and considered stopping in the first round beacasue she won a wildcard in the women's singles. But she decided to continue because of her good results. Wang comes out strong and takes the opening set 6-2, but Burel comes back to claim the second 6-1. Wang is unable to win a single game in the third as Burel takes it 6-0 to reach the final.
But Wang will have another chance for a trophy in the final of the Junior Girls' doubles, as she and Liang En from Chinese Taipei will face Violet Apisah of Papua New Guinea and Lulu Sun of Switzerland.
