As well as his phone call with Moon Jae-in, Chinese President Xi Jinping also met former UK Prime Minister David Cameron in Beijing on Thursday. President Xi praised Cameron's efforts in advancing the bilateral ties of the countries. He also said this "golden era" for their relations has brought tangible benefits for the people of both countries, and that China was willing to strengthen the communication and cooperation channels with the UK; and, in so doing, turn the blueprint of the "golden era" into "golden results". Cameron said the Chinese president's state visit to the UK in 2015 was a memorable event, and that the Belt & Road Initiative would bring more opportunities for the two countries.
