Avalanches in Burqin county in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have blocked main roads in the region.
Electricity in over 300 households has been cut. However, there are no reports of people or vehicles being trapped by the avalanches, which took place in Altay Prefecture in northern Xinjiang, close to China's border with Kazakhstan.
Avalanches were reported at 4 p.m. on Thursday and 2 p.m. on Friday. Local authorities have dispatched staff to clear the snow.
