US President Donald Trump has given the Iran nuclear deal a temporary reprieve, waiving sanctions against Iran for another four months. But he said he would not waive the sanctions again, unless his conditions were met. The US president must sign a waiver suspending its sanctions on Iran every 120 days. Regarding the deal, Trump said "sunset" provisions imposing limits on Iran's nuclear program must not expire. He also said US law must tie long-range missile and nuclear weapons programs together, making any missile testing by Iran subject to "severe sanctions". Trump also wanted Congress to modify a law that reviews US participation in the nuclear deal to include "trigger points" that, if violated, would lead to the US reimposing its sanctions.
