At least 19 people were killed after a bus carrying 44 passengers overturned on a high-speed highway linking Guangzhou and Heyuan cities in southern China's Guangdong Province on Thursday afternoon.

The bus overturned at around 13:00. 

Rescue work is still underway. The cause of the accident is currently unknown.
