Southern Yemeni separatists clashed with government troops in the city of Aden on Sunday, leaving at least 10 people dead, and more than 80 others injured. Clashes broke out after a deadline set last week by the separatists from the Southern Transitional Council had passed. Their request for Hadi to dismiss Prime Minister Ahmed bin Daghr's government, on the accounts of corruption and mismanagement, had not been met. The government denies these charges. The fighting eased off by the evening after both sides instructed their forces to stand down.
This has been the worst clash yet between the two sides, that once were united in a war against the Iran-aligned Houthi movement in Yemen's north.
