Spain is one of the founding members of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and also an important partner in the construction of the Belt and Road.
Spanish Ambassador to China Manuel Valencia says among all the different policy tools that China is employing to advance the Belt and Road Initiative, the AIIB is the most efficient, organized and active one.
When asked about his impression on the Belt and Road Initiative, Valencia said the Initiative is an open concept. It is open to everybody, every country and every company with great competitiveness, and that will produce prosperity in the world.

When it comes to the upcoming Belt and Road Forum, Valencia said Spain has high expectations on the Forum, through which he thinks advanced and competitive economies can help many countries in Asia or even further away, such as in Latin America.
Valencia said the Belt and Road Initiative is a very optimistic proposal, and is a good path for globalization and cooperation.
Valencia added that Spain is very keen to participate in it.
