As south China’s Guangdong Province heats up for the steamy summer ahead, locals and tourists are being drawn to Honghu Garden in Shenzhen for its healthy air and sculpture-like spring appearance. /CFP Photo

Honghu Garden has a forest of dawn redwoods, known as the world’s most ancient tree species. The redwoods have distinctive roots sticking up above the water line. /CFP Photo

Some say the roots look like knobbly knees. /CFP Photo

The roots suck up nutrients for the trees and also pump out oxygen, making this a healthy place to take a break. /CFP Photo
