CPPCC spokesperson Wang Guoqing said he hopes the Hong Kong chief executive elections will be lawful and smooth. He was answering a question on Hong Kong chief executive at the press conference of the Fifth Session of the 12th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee in Beijing on Thursday.
The annual session of the top political advisory body will be held from March 3 to 13, 2017.
