Speed skating: Fan wins 3rd straight 500m gold
China won two medals at the 2017 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in the Dutch city of Rotterdam on Sunday. Fan Kexin was victorious in the women's 500-meter race in 43.605 seconds, beating Canada's Marianne St-Gelais to second place with 43.630. It was the 24-year-old's fifth world championship gold medal over the distance. Fan's form had been in doubt before the worlds, as she failed to win a 500m medal at the Asian Winter Games last month. China also took a silver through two-time men's 500m world champion Wu Dajing.
Football: Chinese star pays price for stamp

Shanghai Shenhua player Qin Sheng is paying the price after putting his worst foot forward in a Chinese Super League (CSL) game on Saturday night. Qin stamped on the foot of Tianjin Quanjian's Axel Witsel in the penalty area, earning a straight red card from the referee. Shanghai Shenhua later announced its punishment for the player on Weibo. The 30-year-old has been sent down to the Shanghai club’s reserve squad, will have to pay a CSL record fine of 300,000 yuan (43,000 US dollars), and is likely to face further sanctions from the Chinese Football Association.
Diving: Olympic champ triumphs at world series

Two-time Olympic champion Chen Aisen proved his reputation on the men's 10m platform by winning gold on the last day of the FINA/NVC Diving World Series in Guangzhou on Saturday. Chen became the fifth diver in history to collect over 600 points on the platform after Olympic champions Lin Yue, Cao Yuan, three-time world champion Qiu Bo and Yang Jian. The FINA/NVC Diving World Series will next visit Kazan, Russia from March 31-April 2 and Windsor, Canada on April 21-23.

It's already being called the biggest comeback in football history. On Thursday, Barcelona thrashed Paris Saint-Germain in a second-leg last-16 Champions League match at the Camp Nou, ensuring a ticket to the quarter-finals. The Spaniards almost needed a miracle after losing 0-4 in the first leg but a stoppage time goal by Sergi Roberto put them through with a 6-5 aggregate. A Luis Suarez opener, a Layvin Kurzawa own goal, a Lionel Messi penalty, and three goals in the last seven minutes of play - including two by Neymar - stunned the Parisians. It is the first time a team has come back after a four-point deficit in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Briton Judd Trump triumphed over Marco Fu in the final of the Players Championship in Wales on Sunday. Trump won six frames in a row to counter a late surge from Fu and take the match 10-8. He now moves up to second place in the rankings, while Fu, who defeated China’s world No.5 Ding Junhui in the semi-final, sits in ninth. "Neither of us were at our best this evening; it was a bit scrappy which probably made it more exciting for the crowd to see us twitching,” Trump said. "I do normally go behind in finals - maybe a bit of a slow starter - so I knew I could rattle off a few frames. I'm delighted and excited to have won."

Lee Chong Wei, Malaysia's veteran badminton player, captured the All-England Open on Sunday with a 21-12, 21-10 win over Chinese youngster Shi Yuqi. The 10th ranked Shi Yuqi knocked out Lin Dan to reach the final, but ran into trouble against the top-ranked player. It was Lee's fourth All-England title, equaling the achievement of Morten Frost, the Dane who is his coaching director in Kuala Lumpur.
