Cold and snowy weather have been blamed for at least 22 deaths in the United States. Major cities in the country are ramping up shelters for the homeless, after three people froze to death in Texas.
Starting Wednesday night, a blizzard swept across northeastern parts of the country. The National Weather Service estimated around 110-million people were affected by the storm on Saturday. Thousands of flights have been cancelled across the country due to the extreme conditions. And several power companies have warned of insufficient fuel, because of a rising demand for heat. Temperatures in blizzard-hit areas are expected to warm on Sunday.
