Shanghai’s midair pool leaves guests swimming in the air

This swimming pool in Shanghai is somewhat similar to the scene from the movie “Mechanic: Resurrection."

It's a swimming pool with a transparent base protruding out of a building just like a scene from the movie. However, the pool in the film is said to be a result of special effects.

But if you're looking for the real one, head to Shanghai. The Holiday Inn in the city's Pudong New District has a similar swimming pool on its 24th floor.

The pool, which was opened in 2011, with its one end hanging out over the edge of the building, is 30 meters long, 8 meters wide and 1.5 meters deep. The base of the swimming pool that hangs in the air is made of acrylic glass, which is weather resistant to suit all seasons in Shanghai.
