A reception has been held to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.  

 

Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and other senior leaders attended the reception on Saturday. Premier Li delivered a speech at the Great Hall of the People. He extended sincere greetings to the people and said that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the country has made inspiring achievements -- including holding the "Belt and Road" Forum and the BRICS Summit. This year's National Day holiday runs for 8 days from October 1st to the 8th. During the holiday period, it's estimated 710 million Chinese tourists will travel to locales around the nation -- a 10 percent increase year-on-year.
