Japanese auto parts maker Takata has pleaded guilty to fraud in a Detroit federal court, and agreed to pay one billion US dollars in penalties for concealing an airbag defect blamed for at least 16 deaths. The payment included compensation for automakers and victims of its faulty airbag inflators. Mayu Yoshida has more from Tokyo.
