The Chinese Foreign Ministry says the sorghum investigation is just a normal, individual case of a trade remedy investigation. The ministry says economic and trade cooperation with the US is mutually beneficial. Senior official on China's rural work, Han Jun, earlier said imports of sorghum - a crop that can be used as a sweetener, livestock feed, or even turned into ethanol - has caused substantial damage to Chinese farmers. He said anti-dumping investigations are the right of WTO members, and also a regular policy of China.
