Chinese female bodybuilder Mou Cong has made history by becoming the country’s first-ever bodybuilding world champion, after taking home two golds at the prestigious 2017 Arnold Amateur World Championships this week.
The 32-year-old won the championship for both the best figure and overall physique for women under 167 centimeters at the competition.
She has also become China’s first female athlete to be granted membership into the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB).
After winning the competition, Mou posted on Sina Weibo, China’s Twitter-like platform, “life goes without rehearsal, and to live is to have your dream, seek your dream, and achieve your dream.”
Mou has been working out for a decade to sculpt her toned body. She also earned a gold medal at the Asian Bodybuilding Championships in 2012.
