A US naval ship on Tuesday collided with a South Korean fishing vessel in the East Sea during a training mission, Yonhap news agency reported, citing S. Korean defense authorities.
The accident, involving the US cruiser USS Lake Champlain and the South Korean fishing ship 502 Namyang, occurred in the waters south of Ulleung Island at around noon.
There were no reports of casualties. After the collision, both ships were able to navigate under their own power and no one was injured, said the US Naval Forces Korea.
