Gary Lawrence, a military antiques collector, has discovered one of the last remaining flags from the Battle of Waterloo in a shoe box, which dates back to more than 200 years ago. /CFP Photo

He had no idea that the flag was so rare when he bought it for less than 500 pounds, and was later stunned to find the fragments were regimental colors from Napoleon Bonaparte's last stand. /CFP Photo

Gary is now restoring the flag, which could fetch more than 300,000 pounds at auction. /CFP Photo

The 58-year-old told reporters that he has never found anything this historically significant. /CFP Photo
