Following a brief firefight with local security forces, Somali pirates on Thursday handed over an oil tanker and eight Sri Lankan hostages captured just days ago. Pirates seized the ship and its crew on Monday while it was en route from Djibouti to Mogadishu, making it the first hijacking incident off the coast of Somalia since 2012.
