Dow Jones Plunge: Asian markets suffer heavy losses after Wall Street tumble

Australian, Japanese, and South Korean stocks suffered heavy losses on Tuesday,  just hours after the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended its worst day in more than six years. Japan's Nikkei 225 index lost as much as 5.3 percent by midday. The Australian and South Korean stock markets lost 2.9 percent each. The losses in Asia tracked the Dow's 1,175 points plunge on Monday, which is its worst point drop of all time and its worst percentage decline since August 2011.
