A South Korean advance team led by the country's Unification Ministry has left for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The 12-member team will visit the Mount Kumgang Resort and Masik Pass Ski Resort, to prepare for joint training activities.
This comes after a pre-Olympic delegation from the DPRK returned on Monday, after inspecting venues and equipment for cultural activities. The DPRK's seven-member advance team was led by Hyon Song Wol, a famous singer and also the head of the DPRK cultural troupe "Samjiyon Band". The band will perform in the South Korean cities of Seoul and Gangneung, during the upcoming Olympics. The South Korean Cultural department has said the performance will be for invited guests only.
