Voters in Greek Cyprus have been casting their ballots in an election for a new president.
There are nine candidates, including incumbent conservative Nicos Anastasiades who has led in opinion polls. The winner will be tasked with finding a way to restart peace talks which collapsed last year over Turkey's future role on the island. Cyprus was split by a Turkish invasion in 1974 after a Greek-inspired coup. The EU member state hosts one of the world's longest serving peacekeeping forces separating Greek Cypriots in the south from Turkish Cypriots in the north.
